The Sleeper's Curfew: A Girl and Her Bedtime Fear
Mia! Look at the time. It's almost eight. You know what happens if you're awake. I know, I know! I ran the whole way home. I'm sorry, Amara! Close your eyes. Breathe slowly. Don't think about it, just sleep. What if I can't? What if it comes? I'm right here. Sleep, my girl. Now. The clock ticks toward eight. Somewhere in the dark, something waits and listens. But the girl is already far away, deep inside her dreams. The Sleeper finds only silence, and slowly, it fades away.
